If you’re looking for things to do with your kids in Reykjavík this spring, look no further. From exploring untouched beaches to experiencing FlyOver Iceland, we’ve got you covered when it comes to keeping the kids engaged and entertained.

Head to the Beach

Make new memories at the beach this spring. Your kids will love walking along the shore picking out shells and beautiful rocks. When your day is done, put your treasures in a jar as a keepsake from your adventure at the beach. We recommend Grótta beach, Laugarnesið, Kjalarnesið, and Ægissíða. If you want to venture a bit outside of Reykjavík, visit Langisandur in Akranes or Stokkseyrarfjara.

Visit Laugardalurinn Valley

Explore the Laugardalurinn Valley for a variety of springtime activities. Take a walk in Grasagarðurinn, the botanical garden, and show your kids the historic washing stations, "Gömlu Laugarnar" or "Þvottalaugarnar." These washing stations are an important piece of Reykjavík history, as women in the 18th century would make the dangerous and strenuous trek with their laundry from all over Reykjavík to these stations.

FlyOver Iceland

It's open and it's safe! FlyOver Iceland is a one-of-a-kind experience that will allow your family to immerse yourselves in the rugged beauty of Iceland. Hear tales from ancient Vikings and experience the island’s creation in this exhilarating full motion experience. Be sure to take advantage of our Family Offer with the Travel Voucher!

Take a Bike Ride

Rediscover your own city on a bike ride through Reykjavík. It's surprisingly easy to move around the city on bikes and scooters, as there are bike paths from Sæbraut to Perlan and from Kópavogur to the city centre. If you're feeling adventurous (and have older kids) try renting an electric scooter. Reykjavík e-scooter rentals include Hopp, Wind and Zolo.

Whether you’d rather traverse the botanical garden at Grasagarðurinn or enjoy a virtual experience with FlyOver Iceland, there are no shortage of activities available to keep your kids busy this spring.
